Director of Music Ministry - Williamsburg United Methodist, a congregation of 2200, seeks a full-time Director of Music Ministry to lead a dynamic program of music activities. The Director will supervise a three-quarter-time Assoc. Director of Music Ministry/Organist, a one third-time Assoc. Director (children's music), and several volunteers in a program of fully graded (K-adult) vocal and bell choirs as well as a church orchestra. The Director personally conducts the adult choir, three bell choirs (one each for adults, children, and college students), and the orchestra. An undergraduate degree in music and a record of successful conducting and leadership experience are required. A master's degree in music is preferred. The successful candidate must be comfortable with a variety of musical genres, relate well to a variety of ages, have a record of working successfully in a team setting, possess the ability to continue and grow the music program, and see music in the life of the church as an act of worship.
