Job Description:
The position of Minister of Preschool and Children is a full-time position designed to strengthen and develop the faith of children and equip their parents to disciple them. This person will be responsible for comprehensive ministry to children ages birth to 6th grade, including children's worship activities, Sunday School, AWANA, VBS, special events, and more. This minister leads in developing Sunday School curriculum, casts ministry vision and mobilizes others toward that vision.
Crestwood seeks a spiritually mature, enthusiastic Christ follower who has a command of the Scriptures, loves God and seeks Him in all decisions personal and professional. We prefer some level of experience in growing a ministry focused on the needs of children and families, and willingness to try new, well thought out ideas. A dedicated group of lay leaders currently in place desire to help the candidate grow this ministry to its full potential—one that trains children and teaches them God's Word as opposed to just babysitting.
The individual should demonstrate initiative, administrative and organizational abilities and strong interpersonal skills with children and adults. Preferred background includes a Bachelor's degree and/or previous ministry experience (vocational or volunteer) and an understanding of the cognitive development of children.
Crestwood Baptist Church is an established Southern Baptist Church situated on State Highway 69 between the growing communities of Lumberton and Kountze, TX, about 10 miles north of Beaumont. Crestwood Baptist Church has an average Sunday attendance of 500 members with approximately 150 children in Sunday School.
Our communities offer a great balance of small town character and convenience to an urban area, boasting great neighborhoods, highly regarded schools and a willingness to pull together in times of need. Crestwood lies perfectly located to positively affect both communities for Christ. There are approximately 6,000 children under the age of 14 within 7 miles of our church. We are committed to continue our established, innovative ministry to children while making changes needed to reach the many families in our area.
Salary is dependent on the candidate's education and experience.
