Job Description:
Grace Community Church, a growing contemporary church in Detroit, Michigan is seeking an experienced Children's and Family Ministry leader. We believe it's our responsibility to help parents teach their children about the redemptive love of Christ, and our programs are set up to partner with parents to do just that. We have created engaging environments for our preschoolers (birth to age five); younger elementary students (K – 3rd grade) and older elementary students (4th/5th grades).
The successful candidate will have the following experience and beliefs:
A belief in Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior and is maintaining a personal and ongoing walk with Him.
Must agree with our statement of beliefs and our philosophy of ministry (these can be found on our website at www.gracewired.com)
Have spiritual gifts and/or strengths in leadership, teaching, shepherding and encouragement
At least three years experience leading a growing Children's Ministry program
At least three years experience in leading a staff to equip volunteers to bring the message of Christ to our parents and children.
We believe the primary responsibility of our Children's Ministry leader is to encourage the ministry staff to provide weekly environments where children can learn to be Christ followers; to partner in that effort with weekly teaching responsibilities and intentional relationship building with parents and volunteers in the ministry; and by having face to face meetings with parents to provide encouragement and direction to them in teaching their children about Christ's love at home.
