The following areas define the culture of the church.
1. Christ Centered
Centerpoint was founded and continues today centered on Jesus Christ and His Word; in its teaching, worship, programs, and discipleship.
2. Church Government
Centerpoint is a Southern Baptist Church and has been a ¡§Pastor Lead¡¨ church.
The church has a constitution and operations manual that guide decision-making.
The deacons have a history of serving and supporting the ministry of the church at the direction of the Senior Pastor
Recent survey results indicate that the congregation desires a structural change.
3. Teaching Style
The church is characterized by a strong commitment to exegetical Bible teaching. We are used to both verse by verse and topical teaching centered on the Word of God
4. The Staff
The church staff is a combination of associate pastors and lay directors plus administrative support. The staff is directed by the Sr. Pastor. A majority of the lay staff are also members or attendees of the church.
5. How the Work Gets Done
Centerpoint has always been a church of people who are committed to high levels of involvement and service. We depend largely on volunteerism to run the church. There are a few people who are paid to work in the nursery or perform key administrative or ministry functions. The maintenance of the church is carried out by a combination of paid and volunteer people.
6. Missions
Our focus comes from Acts 1:8 where we are mandated to reach out to our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the uttermost parts of the world
