Full Time Youth Minister For Lynbrook Baptist Church:
Youth Minister Profile:
* The youth minister must have a personal relationship with and faith in Jesus Christ as evidenced in a clear testimony. He should not be a new believer.
* He must demonstrate a Christ-like character as evidenced in spiritually mature behavior, speech, and prayer life.
* He must have a good understanding of the Bible and experienced in using it to address youth.
* He must be in agreement with the doctrinal statement of Lynbrook Baptist Church. He must become a member of the church.
* He must be disciplined, self motivated, organized, possess good communication skills, have leadership ability, be able to follow instructions and work as a team player.
* He must have a passion, love, and burden to minister to Youth of various ages as well as experience in youth ministry.
* It is preferred that he be married.
* He must agree to be fingerprinted and have background checks.
Educational/Training Requirements
1. A seminary degree or a 4 year Bible degree in youth ministries is highly preferred. 2. Youth ministry and biblical training at seminars and conferences are a plus. 3. If a bible degree is not complete, then their must be a commitment to finish. 4. There must be a commitment to continue training through available seminars and conferences. 5. A combination of education and life experience may be considered
Job Description
1. Create, plan, and direct a youth ministry program for two groups: JR High (7,8) and SR High (9-12) 2. Meet with students during the week, and one night a month: Have corporate prayer with both groups. 3. Teach Sunday School for JR/SR High 4. Attend all services and prayer meetings of the Church. 5. Take students on youth conferences as offered for Jr/Sr High. 6. Mentor students to use their talents and abilities for the Lord within and outside the Church. 7. Create and encourage service projects and mission trips for Jr/Sr High. 8. Be available for students and their families during the week for relationship building, counseling, mentoring, and recruiting and training adult leaders and volunteers.
