Church:
Calvary Worship Center is a diverse, dynamic growing church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Our heartbeat is Spirit-filled worship and verse-by-verse preaching and teaching of God's Word. Our desire is to be a church "alive" that reflects the very heart of God as seen through the early church in the book of Acts.
Ministry:
We are looking for a Spirit filled believer in Jesus Christ who has a passion for youth. This individual must be called to youth ministry and be willing to stick around for at least 3 years. This person should be experienced in leading, teaching, pastoring, and administrating the youth ministry as unto the Lord.
Our Sr. High Youth ministers to 60-80 High School students on Sundays, and about 25-40 youth on Wednesday nights. Areas within the ministry that require Youth Pastoral oversight are: Youth Worship Team, Ground Town Café, Volunteer assignments, Teen Boys and Girls Growth Groups, Discipleship, and Event Planning.
Requirements:
1. Have a God given vision for youth ministry.
2. Teach Weekly Bible Studies; One service Wednesday nights, and Two services Sunday mornings
3. Coordinate the outreach to and evangelization of young people in our congregation/community
4. Plan a six month calendar of youth activities in advance
5. Constant involvement and encouragement with all youth members
- Face to face communication is essential
- Extra curricular activities / visibility at student events
- Other communication methods (i.e. e-mail, text messaging, telephone, facebook, etc.)
6. Involvement in church activities / encourage youth involvement
7. Youth discipleship program(s)
8. Recruit and develop adult leadership team
9. Meet with youth leadership to pray, praise, mentor, etc...
10. Help youth to do the work of the ministry (youth led worship teams, youth led small groups, youth led ministry, etc...)
11. Provide counsel and spiritual direction to youth on an individual basis.
12. Flexibility
Relationship with Pastoral Staff:
1. Loyalty expected
2. Support of the Senior Pastor’s vision for the church
3. Professionalism and respect is mutually practiced between Pastoral Staff and Youth Pastor
4. Be a Servant
5. Accountable to Executive Pastor (directly), Senior Pastor and ultimately the Lord.
Compensation: This is a full-time salary position with 2 weeks paid vacation after the first year, all of which is to be determined based on the qualifications of the candidate.
