First Baptist Church of Sterling, VA (FBC) is looking for a part-time (which may lead to a full-time position) Youth Director to oversee all youth ministries from junior/senior youth. Our goal is to make the youth become devoted followers of Jesus Christ through college and young adulthood. The successful candidate will report to the Pastor and Co-Pastor of the church and have the following responsibilities: Grow FBC youth ministry in meaningful ways by: Leading and organizing effective youth programs by implementing meaningful biblical teaching. Recruit, train and lead volunteer staff. Provide spiritual guidance and counseling to youth on an individual/as needed basis. Maintain contact with youth and parents, while keeping them informed of ongoing activities. Assist in the development and oversee the youth ministry budget. Other duties as required. SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS A bachelor's degree in a related field and or experience 3-5 years working with youth. Must be able to engage the youth and a strong theological/biblical background preferred. Exhibits creativity, motivation and capable of building consistent relationships with the youth, parents and community. Basic administrative skills, with excellent written and communication skills are required.
